München-Haidhausen, St. Johann Baptist

St John-the-Baptist is a particuarly beautiful and interesting church dating from the Gründerzeit of the 1860s and intended as a suburban "plant". On account of lack of depth in the gallery, the organ had to be hung on the rear wall of the church, leaving only the console on the gallery. The side walls of the case and the console are made of glass, thereby emphasising the lightness and transparency of the organ.
A special feature is a device developed by us for reducing the pressure required to depress the key to nil, if required. By means of a comprehensive and ingenious arrangement of double pallets and shock absorbers, a lightly reactive touch is made possible, yet free of any wasted motion.
